There’s little debate on the value of interior design when it comes to creating place you can call home. For this project, our clients were a young, modern and stylish family based in Macau. As frequent travellers, they became accustomed to the luxuries and conveniences of hotels; they wanted their five-storey apartment to include six-star-quality features blended seamlessly with simple home comforts.
We started by speaking to the household to wholly understand their preferences, and with every conversation The Good Studio set out to strike the right balance that was attuned to the personalities of each family member. They also loved entertaining, so requested a home that could be equally private and dynamic, with flexible recreational facilities that would accommodate a growing family.

A magnificent staircase with a striking balustrade was constructed around a central stairwell so that the top floor and all subsequent lower floors were visible from ground level. This allowed for an open flow in the large home to create a sense of constant connection.
Purposefully positioned on the middle floor as the hub of the home, the living and dining areas served to draw the family together and create a central point for company to converse, without disturbing the younger family members’ sleep. The circular Sky Lounge was a sybaritic highlight of the apartment that seated up to 8 people and boasted a stunning view of Macau.
To replicate the requisite hotel style, we used a neutral colour palette and a clean, minimal look. Highly textured fabrics, inviting furniture and customised carpets added sumptuous volumes of luxury, and carefully selected decorative lighting fixtures acted as distinct art pieces in their own right – there to peruse and admire in lulling moments.
Thoughtful design is evident, the H Residence feels like an extension of the family, sophisticated and ever evolving, transcending as a nurturing space with room to grow.
